We have a dedicated team of twenty staff at our dental surgery in Newport
This has ensured that our patients have seen a familiar face throughout each family generation. Indeed, Principal Dentist Rachael was present in 1986 as Mr. H. Peter Griffiths’ work-experience student!
Dentists
Dr Rachael Gill-Randall

Rachael graduated from The University of Wales School of Dentistry in 2004 as a mature student. Prior to this she had a Post Doctorate career in Drug Biochemistry for the University of Wales and was Study Director for Bio-Dynamics Research working across the globe. After qualifying, Rachael worked as a VT for a year in Merthyr Tydfil and then as an associate in a Cardiff practice for 2 &1/2 years.
In 2007 Rachael purchased Devon Place from Peter Griffiths (formerly known as Exeter Chambers) and transformed it into a seven surgery dental practice in Newport with BDA good practice, Denplan Excel, Investors in People Bronze & Gold .
Devon Place was also shortlisted as Practice of the year in 2010.
She particularly enjoys taking on board the nervous patient and transforming them into a confident patient with a gleaming smile.
Time outside, Rachael enjoys her family life with her husband, son and extended family but is fully committed to her work as practice owner.
Dr Jonathan Frankel

Jon graduated from the London Hospital medical school in 1986. Jon has worked in the Ascot/ Windsor area in his own Private practice since qualifying. He moved to Wales in 2008 and joined Devon Place early in 2013.
Clinical interests include; cosmetic, tooth whitening and Orthodontics using the CFast system. Jon is also a practitioner with a special interest in Endodontics (root fillings) and takes referrals from the other practitioners in this field. Jon studied in Dubai for part of the Endodontics course.
Jon is married to Liz and he has 2 daughters, one a qualified doctor and the second daughter a top job with Mercedes.
Outside the practice Jon has also never grown up and still rallies old cars.
Dr Dorrel Gordon

Dorrel joined Devon Place in 2011 after studying in Bristol University Dental School and qualified in 2006. Before this Dorrel spent many years enjoying life as a highly skilled Dental Technician producing high end crown and bridge units for his clients.
Dorrel is also highly motivated in all aspects of dentistry and with his gentle manner enjoys treating patients with dental anxiety.
As a married father of four, naturally Dorrel enjoys all aspects of family life.
Dr Matthew Travers Johnson

Matthew joined us in 2020. He is a qualified Dental Surgeon.
Matt enjoys spending time with his family and he has 4 daughters. Out of work, Matt enjoys gardening and growing his own on his allotment.
Dr Sian Jones
GDC no:80885
Sian graduated from Liverpool University in 2002. Sian is our Dental Implant surgeon. Sian is very experienced as an implant surgeon and enjoys all aspects of her work with a particular interest in Cosmetic Dentistry.
Outside of work SIan is busy with her 2 sons and her family farm.
Hygienists
James Edwards

James qualified from Cardiff university in 2015. He strives to deliver the most up to date oral hygiene instructions to his patients. Always ensures the patient is at ease and will customise treatment to suit every individual.
Alison Davey
GDC reg: 109683
Alison qualified as a Therapist/Hygienist in 2007 from Cardiff University and joined Devon Place in 2008.
Alison is qualified to carry out simple extractions and fillings on adults and children and spends a lot of time with our younger patients teaching them about their Oral Hygiene and how to prevent dental decay. Alison is a mum to 2 daughters who are grown up and bring her lots of pleasure.
Kayley qualified as a dental hygienist and therapist from the University of Birmingham in July 2024.
Manager & Receptionists
Liz Frankel

Liz has enjoyed many years in dentistry; she started dental nurse training in September 1979. Since then Liz has worked in many practices around the country. In September 2005 Liz joined Frankel Dental Care as a part time nurse. When the practice moved to Ascot Liz became practice manager running a very successful practice with Jon until selling the practice to move to South Wales in 2012. Liz loves every aspect of her work here at Devon Place 7 Day Dental and hopes to remain as Practice Manager until retirement.
Jan Lear
Jan started in 2010 at Devon Place as a receptionist and is now our reception manager. Jan enjoys meeting and greeting all of our patients and is now a friend to many.
In 2012, Jan won the Denplan mystery shopper telephone survey and was highly rated in customer care. Jan is also one of our Denplan Champions and is fulfilled with solving patient appointment queries and bookings.As a married mum to four and a granny to seven, she is fully involved in all family activities and is an avid life-long Elvis fan and even named her dog after him.
Andrea Harris
Andrea has worked at Devon Place as the receptionist since 2008. She enjoys interfacing with our patients and is good at customer care.
Andrea is married and her daughter Aimee is also a qualified nurse at Devon Place. Andrea loves socialising and enjoys travelling, dog walking.
Qualified Dental Nurses
Chanel Dwyer

Chanel joined Devon Place in 2012 and qualified in July 2014 gaining an NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing. Chanel enjoys all aspects of dentistry and is keen to learn new techniques and working methods. Chanel has completed the Dental Postgraduate Impression Taking Course and is a qualified dental nurse radiographer. Chanel has 2 daughters and enjoys shopping and spending time with friends and family.
Sammy Howarth

Sammy joined us in October 2011 as a trainee dental nurse and qualified in 2013 having completed the Dental Nurse Level 3 QCF City & Guilds. Sammy is a qualified radiographer, implant nurse and is also qualified in dental impression taking. Sammy has 3 children that keep her busy. Outside of work Sammy enjoys singing and socialising with family and friends.
Natalie Jeavons

Natalie joined Devon Place in 2012 and qualified in 2014 (NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing)Natalie enjoys all aspects of dentistry and is now a qualified dental nurse radiographer and qualified in dental impression taking. Also she has completed part one of IV and Oral Sedation and is continuing to study for part two of the qualification. She has a larger than life character and enjoys socialising with friends and family.
Aimee Harris

Margarita joined us in August 2022. She has qualified as a Dental nurse in 2006. Worked in many high end private practices in London. She has worked with Liz and John Frankel in Chepstow since 2016. In 2018, she has completed Oral Health Education course to continue her interest in wellbeing and nutrition. Margarita is married mum of two. Loves outdoors, cycling and swimming.
Ellie Graham

Ellie joined us in August 2022, enrolled onto Toothfaries Ltd and is now qualified as a Dental Nurse. Ellie has already gained qualifications in Health and Social Care NVQ level 3, and Applied Science NVQ level 3. Outside of work Ellie likes to socialise with friend and family.
